Sensei Darren Fennessy - 4th Dan SKIF (Shotokan Karate-do International Federation)

Sensei Darren Fennessy began his training in Shotokan Karate in 1990 with Sensei Mick Power. Sensei Power instilled in Darren a true passion for teaching karate and respect for all martial arts. Twenty-two years later, Darren is still training in his first karate club in Cahir, County Tipperary. He began instructing as a junior instructor in 1993, fulfilling his ambition to pass on his knowledge of karate to others and has been doing so ever since. By this time, Darren had already competed in numerous national tournaments and taken home many titles in both Kata and Kumite as a junior.

In 2000 Darren competed in the 7th SKIF World Championships in Bali, Indonesia with the Irish Squad and went on to compete in many more tournaments around Europe and the world. Darren is currently a 4th Dan in Shotokan Karate and is always eager to expand his knowledge. He regularly attends seminars in Ireland and internationally as well as keeping up with his own rigorous training routine.
